Someone asked my wife a great question the other day. They asked, “What is excellence?” At first I was like “du-uh. Isn’t it obvious?” And then I realized that it is not as clear-cut as I first thought.
Webster’s defines excellence as
1. The quality of being excellent; state of possessing good qualities in an eminent degree; exalted merit; superiority in virtue.
2. An excellent or valuable quality; that by which any one excels or is eminent; a virtue.
In what areas do you display excellence? In what areas do you wish you displayed excellence? Now, what is keeping you from pursuing excellence in all that you do?
For TFH Worship, we pursue excellence in these areas:
1. Dedication to personal, spiritual growth. (i.e. continued focus on our relationship with Jesus)
2. Musicianship
3. Presentation
4. Commitment to the local church
How does your worship team fit into these 4 areas?
How do you, on a personal level fit into these 4 areas? Maybe you need to switch out “musicianship” for whatever it is you do. Possibly “craftsmanship” or “communication” would be a better fit for you.
Whatever you do, realizing that it is for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, do it with excellence. Refuse the status quo and go above and beyond the standard.

This is so funny because someone was asking this on fb,and of course i had something to say,and I'm purely sharing this as it is the truth in my life, and how God so smartly gifted me in a different,or not in the most common meaning of excellence.
I replied that we show excellence by showing raw love, often times we come across people,we tend to see something we don't like,or weird,or we put judgement first instead of showing your heart. I don't have even a high school diploma or any kind of paper to validate or show any degree, merit,or to fit in the worldly meaning of excellence, but When we love without a doubt excellence come out. I totally believe that even if anyone who reaches the highest there is in their education,or work or wherever, its not valid in Gods definition until they learn to love. I know we all want to have an education and be smart in something, and for some of us,we don't have the money,or the time to be in school. but we shouldn't stop there, and beat ourselves over it,there is a lot of ways to show excellency, and continue let it come out of us.
very well said. I think that you are totally on to something. Love is the basis for all that God does and His standard is above all else. So If we can submit and adhere to the same filter systems as God, we are in great shape. Love on.
